We’d love as many people as possible to fundraise to support global wildlife conservation, however if you feel you are unable to fundraise but would still like to participate in the distance part of the challenge, you are welcome to. We ask that everyone doing so please donates £30 to their own page, and as a result you’re entitled to your ZSL exercise t-shirt!
Where does the money I raise go?
Money raised through Around the World in 30 Days will go towards ZSL’s work to save wildlife from extinction, through science, education and conservation.
For more information on how we spend donations, visit our website.
Can my money go to a specific project?
No, the money you raise will go to the areas of our work that need it most. That allows us to be more efficient with donations and spend them in the best possible way to benefit wildlife.
Can I ask my employer for matched funding?
Lots of companies operate matched giving schemes that can double the amount of money you raise. If they can’t match donations, they may still help in other ways – get in touch with them to find out what they can offer.
What is Gift Aid and can my supporters add it to their donations?
Gift Aid allows charities like us to reclaim tax from the government on donations. This means that UK taxpayers can increase their donation to ZSL by an extra 25%, at no extra cost to themselves.
Donors can add on Gift Aid by selecting the option as part of their donation process.
Does Gift Aid count towards my fundraising target?
No, unfortunately Gift Aid doesn’t count. However please encourage people sponsoring you to include Gift Aid in their donation if they are a UK taxpayer, as it’s means that every pound they donate to ZSL will be increased by an extra 25%, at no extra cost to themselves, helping ZSL to protect more endangered wildlife around the world.
How do I pay in the cash I raise offline?
We recommend using our Around the World in 30 Days JustGiving platform to raise funds. If you receive a cash donation, you’ll need to pay the amount you received into your online fundraising page. If you are unable to do that, then please bank your cash and write us a cheque made payable to ‘Zoological Society of London’ and send to the below address, along with a letter to explain that you’re taking part in Around the World in 30 Days.
